The Wesley Centre is a Christian voice in the public square. We bring together research, lived experience, and theology to have conversations that matter about the values and ethics that underlie public policy and how to be a society in which all people flourish.
14th October marks one year since a majority of Australians voted "No" in the Referendum for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Federal Parliament. We want to mark the occasion by hearing from Aboriginal peoples, reflecting on the role media and colonialism played, and responding theologically.
Please join us for a public forum as we reflect together about where we are one year on and how we can continue to pursue justice and Reconciliation.
WHEN: Sunday 13th October, 3.30–5.30pm
WHERE: Wesley Place, 130 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne
COST: Recommended donation of $10 - $25
This is a ticketed event and all profits (after costs) will go to support the next Grasstree Gathering, a national network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island Christian Leaders. Your ticket includes afternoon tea.
Thanks so much for the outstanding attendance at Prof Grace Ji-Sun Kim talk on her book 'When God Became White: Dismantling Whiteness for a more just Christianity' -
